Dear Sisters and Brothers: We have an important role to play in providing assistance to immigrants in our Sonoma County Communities. Nancy and Bob were volunteers as Legal Observers. I'm going to speak with the contact below to find out more information as what it takes to be a Legal Observer, member of the Accompaniment Team, Hotline Dispatcher, or a person who distributes the red and yellow cards that hold important information for our immigrants as they are confronted by ICE. I'll also get in touch with Nancy and Bob to find out what it takes to be a Legal Observer.

Who We Are

The rapid response network provides a way for people to respond to fear and anxiety in our community as a result of the increase in  immigration enforcement, ICE raids and other attacks against our communities. The network provides a 24-hour hotline to immigrants facing a raid by federal immigration agents, dispatches trained legal observers to the raid location, provides legal defense to affected communities, and offers accompaniment to victims and families following a raid.  


Our Mission 

To mobilize an emergency response network, serve as witnesses to immigration enforcement actions, uphold the rights of immigrants, and provide service to affected North Bay residents.  


Volunteer  for


  • Legal Observation Team: Join a countywide Rapid Response Network of trained legal observers who will respond directly to the site of an ongoing ICE raid.  Observers bear witness to immigration enforcement actions and provide data for the network and the victim’s legal defense.

  • Accompaniment Team: The accompaniment team has made a commitment to be present for the victims. These teams work to support the victims with their needs—connecting to  social services, rides, food, making appointments, housing, etc. 

  • Hotline Dispatcher: Individuals are trained to answer and respond to calls that report ICE activities in our community. Must be bilingual, have a cell phone and computer. Citizenship not required. 

  • Know Your Rights: Help distribute the network’s red and yellow cards that contain information about rights.

¿Quién somos? 

La red de respuesta rápida provee una manera para la gente responder al miedo y ansiedad de nuestra comunidad causada por la aumentación en el ejecución de inmigrantes, redadas de la migra, y  otros ataques contra nuestras comunidades. La red está disponible 24 oras cada día  y sirve como una línea directa para los inmigrantes que se enfrentan con una redada por la migra federal,  y también se m andan observadores legales entrenados a la locación de la  redada, provee servicios legales a las comunidades afectadas, y  ofrece acompañamiento a las víctimas y sus familias después de la redada. 


Nuestra Misión 

A movilizar una red de respuesta emergencia, para servir como testigos a las acciones de ejecución de inmigrantes, fortalecer los derechos de los inmigrantes, y proveer servicios a los residentes de la Bahía del Norte que son afectados. 

Voluntario para

  • Equipo de Legal Observación: El equipo de observación se compone de observadores legales entrenados por MigraWatch que responden directamente al sitio de una redada de la migra. Observadores son testigos de la redada de inmigración y proporcionan datos para la red y la defensa legal de la víctima. 

  • Equipo de Acompañamiento: El equipo de acompañamiento ha comprometido estar presente para las víctimas. Estos equipos trabajarán para apoyar las víctimas con sus necesidades--conexiones a servicios sociales, vueltas, alimentación, hacer citas, vivienda, etc. 

  • Linea de Emergencia: Llegar a ser los que contestan la linea emergencia cuando alguien reporta las activitidades de la migra (ICE) en la comunidad. Se necesita ser bilingüe, tener cellular y computadora. No es necesita ser ciudadano de los E.E.U.U. 

  • Conozca Sus Derechos: Asistir para difundir las tarjetas rojos y amarillos que tiene información sobre derechos a lugares importantes en la comunidad.

Dear Sisters and Brothers of Emmaus: On Monday Linda, Marcie and David visited with Lindsey Kerr, the Pastor of Christ Church Methodist in Santa Rosa in order to assess whether moving to Christ Church for our liturgies would be advantageous for all of us at Emmaus. Many of us have worked with Lindsey and consider her to be an excellent leader who is courageous and energetic. We received a warm welcome from Lindsey who showed us around Christ Church and opened the room in which we may meet. It’s not in the church – but an unused classroom that’s part of the larger set of buildings in the complex.  The room has space enough for us, lots of windows and some storage. They are buying new tables for the room. The room used to be a classroom so there’s plenty of room for our celebrations.  Saturday, February 1, 2025: Announcement about Bill Boorman (Sir Will) Victoria just called and explained that Bill Boorman is in his transitional phase. He's no longer eating or drinking. He's still mentally sharp but is having great difficulty communicating. Let's lift up Bill as he begins his passage  Bill is one of the kindest, most talented, and generous people of this age or any other. He loved life,  companionship, friends, art, and good food. Bill used every day to live a full life.
