Dear friends, blessings of peace and hope to you!

This past weekend, the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy was awarded the President Medal of Freedom posthumously, and the award was accepted by his daughter, Kerry Kennedy. This Saturday, January 11th, Kerry will join us for our first zoom session of the new year and speak on human rights and peacemaking. One of the world’s leading human rights activists, Kerry is director of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Human Rights.(www.rfkhumanrights.org)

She’ll talk about her work, and the many campaigns she’s involved in, and link the work of human rights as an essential ingredient for Gospel peacemaking. Join us!

Kerry authored the New York Times bestseller Being Catholic Now, as well as Speak Truth to Power and Robert F. Kennedy: Ripples of Hope. She has devoted more than 40 years to the pursuit of equal justice, the promotion and protection of basic rights, and the preservation of the rule of law around the world.

She works on a range of issues, including child labor, women’s rights, disappearances, indigenous land rights, judicial independence, freedom of expression, ethnic violence, criminal justice reform, immigration, impunity, and environmental justice. She has led hundreds of human rights delegations in support of these causes.

She appears regularly as a commentator on national and worldwide television networks, and is a frequent contributor to newspapers and magazines. She served as Chair of the Amnesty International USA Leadership Council for over a decade, and serves on the Vatican commission on human rights.

Please mark your calendars and join us this Saturday to hear and meet Kerry! And please help me by sharing this eblast far and wide among friends and colleagues and social media. Thank you.
