Thursday, January 2, 2025: Dear friends, Blessings of Christ’s peace in the he New Year!

Next week, the Beatitudes Center, in conjunction with National Catholic Reporter, is launching its first weekly, free, podcast of the new “Nonviolent Jesus Podcast.”

Click here to listen to a 90 second trailer about the upcoming podcast series.

In the first episode posting on Monday, January 6th, I will read the Beatitudes and walk through them, inviting us to use them as guideposts in this new year, as a blueprint for living a nonviolent life and working for a more just, more peaceful world. It seemed only fitting that I should talk about the Beatitudes!

I’ve already recorded several other wonderful upcoming episodes, featuring Martin Sheen on Jan. 13th; Dr. Bernard Lafayette, Civil Rights Leader and Dr. King’s assistant on Jan. 20th; Sr. Helen Prejean on Jan. 27th; and Fr. Richard Rohr on Feb. 3rd, on his new book on the prophets. Future guests, I hope, will include Sr. Joan Chittister, Rev. William Barber, Shane Claiborne, and Joan Baez. Please join us, and help spread the word!

This first episode and all future episodes will post on Monday mornings at www.beatitudescenter.org and www.ncronline.org. You can also find at The Beatitudes Center other information such as links to Spotify and Apple, and news about the forthcoming APP.

Together, we go forward, following the nonviolent Jesus and working for justice, disarmament, and creation! With every blessing,

  • Fr. John

PS. and don't miss Kerry Kennedy on human rights, on our Jan. 11th zoom program!
