Dear Sisters and Brothers: Tomorrow, May 3rd we have another chance to raise our voices top dsave our democracy. There are 4 groups marching from different directions.  Alice Waco will lead our Emmaus Community We have been asked to march in order to support DEI in all its forms and programs. We will gather at the corner of Petaluma Hill Road and Milton Street. Time : 10:30

March Day 3 of CURF Days of Action and Protest in Santa Rosa, to Julliard Park

Four Converging Marches gathering late morning, into downtown, around (not through) Old Courthouse Square, ending at Juilliard Park for a Rally.

From the East: 10:30 AM – gather at Creekside Medical Plaza, 95 Montgomery Drive. March to focus on healthcare in the U.S. and the killing of healthcare workers in Gaza. Sign up for this march here.

From the south: Emmaus Community 10:30 AM – Gather at the corner of Petaluma Hill Road and Milton Street. March to focus on the need for DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion). 

From the West: 11:00 AM – Gather in front of Lola’s Market and Restaurant, 440 Dutton Avenue. March to focus on the rights of immigrants and Palestinians. Sign up for this march here.

From the north: 11:00 AM – Gather at Santa Rosa Junior College, 1501 Mendocino Ave. (front lawn). March to focus on education, justice and democracy. Sign up or this march here.

After the marches the main event will take place in Julliard Park, 227 Santa Rosa Avenue, from 12:30 to 2:30 PM: a rally with music, speakers, tabling and more. NOON: Critical Mass Convergence for the Rally in Juilliard Park, Bring water and a picnic! Food drive; donations welcome.

12:00 - 12:30 arrive and gather from the 4 marches 12:30-2:30 PM program at the Park 2:30 PM – Gather volunteers for clean up

Dear Sisters and Brothers of Emmaus: On Monday Linda, Marcie and David visited with Lindsey Kerr, the Pastor of Christ Church Methodist in Santa Rosa in order to assess whether moving to Christ Church for our liturgies would be advantageous for all of us at Emmaus. Many of us have worked with Lindsey and consider her to be an excellent leader who is courageous and energetic. We received a warm welcome from Lindsey who showed us around Christ Church and opened the room in which we may meet. It’s not in the church – but an unused classroom that’s part of the larger set of buildings in the complex.  The room has space enough for us, lots of windows and some storage. They are buying new tables for the room. The room used to be a classroom so there’s plenty of room for our celebrations.  Saturday, February 1, 2025: Announcement about Bill Boorman (Sir Will) Victoria just called and explained that Bill Boorman is in his transitional phase. He's no longer eating or drinking. He's still mentally sharp but is having great difficulty communicating. Let's lift up Bill as he begins his passage  Bill is one of the kindest, most talented, and generous people of this age or any other. He loved life,  companionship, friends, art, and good food. Bill used every day to live a full life.
