Monday, September 29, 2025: Let's Create some post cards for voters: Yes on Proposition 50, Tomorrow at 3:00PM at Christ Church. Let's have fun, make some good trouble and save our democracy



Dear Sisters and Brothers:

The stakes are high for the November 4, 2025, statewide special election – California voters will vote on Proposition 50, The Election Rigging Response Act, a proposal to approve new congressional district lines for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections. 

Proposition 50 is an opportunity for Californians to protect our state and country from the Trump administration’s undemocratic attacks on our communities, the social safety net, and our economy.

The power is with Californians.

    Greetings Emmaus,

    I am glad that my good friend Elaine Holtz and her partner Ken Norton are now attending your services. And I think they told you that John Turngren my husband passed away on January 17th after a six year battle with Parkinson's. I am hoping attend some of your services by zoom. And it is refreshing to see the wonderful work that you are doing. I have many fond memories of the many years three or four years that we attended Emmaus when it was on Hwy 12. I really enjoyed the Inclusive community and the progressive politics. Since I've lost my beloved husband, I think it would be really great to connect with you people. Because you knew John. He was such a great husband and we were together for over 30 years. I am now living in Eugene OR We bought a house in 2013 and I am going to sell the house now since it is too big for me living all alone. I will be moving into a senior living situation where there is a sense of community and belonging. This is a stressful time selling the house and paying the taxes on my own. Please pray for me and I will keep you in my prayers also.

    May the peace of Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit carry us through these difficult waters.

    I would love to connect with someone personally perhaps Victoria Macdonald. I would love to have a telephone conversation just to receive some support. John just passed away on January 17th and I am grieving. I went to mass last night at my local church St Jude's. And in the homily the priest was saying that we need three things One is obedience to the word of God the second is gratitude and the third is praise and worship. I mention this because I have so much gratitude for John Turngren. He helped me so much he was the love of my life. Now I am receiving his Social Security andhe is the one who applied for the loan so we could buy the house in Eugene Oregon to help my granddaughter. He was the most loving partner and I have so much gratitude that I met him and that I knew him and that we had so many good years together It would be helpful for me to make personal contact with Victoria MC Donald. Dear Sisters and Brothers of Emmaus: On Monday Linda, Marcie and David visited with Lindsey Kerr, the Pastor of Christ Church Methodist in Santa Rosa in order to assess whether moving to Christ Church for our liturgies would be advantageous for all of us at Emmaus. Many of us have worked with Lindsey and consider her to be an excellent leader who is courageous and energetic. We received a warm welcome from Lindsey who showed us around Christ Church and opened the room in which we may meet. It’s not in the church – but an unused classroom that’s part of the larger set of buildings in the complex.  The room has space enough for us, lots of windows and some storage. They are buying new tables for the room. The room used to be a classroom so there’s plenty of room for our celebrations.  Saturday, February 1, 2025: Announcement about Bill Boorman (Sir Will) Victoria just called and explained that Bill Boorman is in his transitional phase. He's no longer eating or drinking. He's still mentally sharp but is having great difficulty communicating. Let's lift up Bill as he begins his passage  Bill is one of the kindest, most talented, and generous people of this age or any other. He loved life,  companionship, friends, art, and good food. Bill used every day to live a full life.
