Tuesday, February 24, 2026: This is my prayer for all nations and all humanity

Dear Sisters and Brothers: Last Sunday Melva Freeman shared her prayer for peace during our shared homily. It took a lot of courage on Melva's part to - but she shared her prayer and it was wonderful! This has been a troubled time for all of us and, after watching a video linked to our blog,  Melva felt a special sense of grief. Her response was to write a prayer for peace. 


Prayer for Peace: Please share this prayer (Melva's request)

I cannot change the many, many problems of our world.  All I can do is contact my elected officials, vote, take care of myself and pray for peace. 

This is my prayer for all nations and all humanity. 

May all people in all nations have peace, prosperity, kindness, safety, food, clothing, safe clean shelter, clean water, health and happiness.  

May they experience laughter, love and many blessings, freedom to worship as they wish, freedom to travel and live where they choose, freedom from war, 

freedom to love who they wish, freedom from tyranny. 

May we of the world take care of our precious earth.

Dear Sisters and Brothers of Emmaus: On Monday Linda, Marcie and David visited with Lindsey Kerr, the Pastor of Christ Church Methodist in Santa Rosa in order to assess whether moving to Christ Church for our liturgies would be advantageous for all of us at Emmaus. Many of us have worked with Lindsey and consider her to be an excellent leader who is courageous and energetic. We received a warm welcome from Lindsey who showed us around Christ Church and opened the room in which we may meet. It’s not in the church – but an unused classroom that’s part of the larger set of buildings in the complex.  The room has space enough for us, lots of windows and some storage. They are buying new tables for the room. The room used to be a classroom so there’s plenty of room for our celebrations. Saturday, August 2, 2025: Need Emmaus help with a Hunger Strike: (Please share this information and request for good trouble) Here's a copy of the email I sent out to my congregation to boost participation.
